Westbound Frontage Road (College Street) Closure
October 3rd thru November 23rd
The westbound frontage road (College St.) is planned to be closed from MLK (North) to Gills Branch and the east U-turn at UP railroad will be closed to Newton Street from October 3rd to November 23rd. Barricades will be placed on WBFR at MLK (North) and at Newton St. to close to through traffic. An off-duty police officer will also be utilized on WBFR at MLK in the first week to prevent traffic from bypassing barricades.
Barricades will also be set on MLK at Emile to close off the southbound lane only along with barrels along the centerline from Emile to WBFR. This is to prohibit traffic from traveling southbound on MLK from Emile to WBFR.
The signed TxDOT detour will take all traffic on WBFR coming from SH 95 onto the westbound entrance ramp east of UPRR. Local traffic will be allowed to travel from SH 95 along WBFR to MLK. No detour signing will be placed on city streets.
