Crosshairs Texas LLC Announces Temporary Compliance Policy Following Jensen v. ATF

Crosshairs Texas LLC has adopted a Temporary Compliance Guidance & Operating Policy in response to the recent federal court decision in Jensen v. ATF, a landmark case that may provide qualifying Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) members with relief from certain National Firearms Act (NFA) restrictions involving suppressors, short-barreled rifles (SBRs), and short-barreled shotguns (SBSs).
As a licensed 07 Federal Firearms Manufacturer, Class III dealer, and long-time supporter of responsible firearm ownership, Crosshairs Texas is committed to ensuring every transaction complies with current federal and Texas law while providing customers with accurate information during this evolving legal landscape.
Our Commitment to Responsible Compliance
The legal issues surrounding Jensen v. ATF continue to evolve. While the federal district court’s decision represents a significant development, the litigation remains active and may be affected by future court orders, appeals, or guidance issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Department of Justice (DOJ), or other authorities.
Accordingly, Crosshairs Texas has implemented a comprehensive internal operating policy that establishes standardized procedures for qualifying transactions, documentation requirements, employee training, recordkeeping, and management approval.
Who May Qualify?
Based on the current court order, qualifying individuals and Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) may be eligible for relief if they meet the requirements established by the Court. Eligibility is not determined solely by membership status and must be verified in accordance with current legal guidance.
For every transaction conducted under our temporary policy, Crosshairs Texas verifies eligibility through documented compliance procedures before proceeding.
What Customers Can Expect
Customers seeking to purchase or transfer a suppressor, under the current Jensen decision, should expect our staff to request documentation that may include:
- Government-issued photo identification
- A valid Texas License to Carry (LTC)
- Verification of current TSRA membership
- A completed Jensen Qualification Affidavit
- Other documentation necessary to establish eligibility under the Court’s order
These procedures have been implemented to protect both our customers and our business while ensuring every transaction is completed responsibly and consistently.
What Jensen v. ATF Does Not Do
It is important for firearm owners to understand what this decision does not change.
The Jensen decision does not repeal the National Firearms Act, eliminate all federal firearm laws, or automatically qualify every firearm owner for relief. The scope of the Court’s injunction remains subject to further judicial review and could change as the litigation progresses.
Crosshairs Texas will continue to follow all applicable federal and Texas laws while monitoring developments from the courts, the ATF, the DOJ, the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), and the Texas State Rifle Association.
