  • Selling a firearm doesn’t have to be complicated. At Crosshairs Texas, we handle the research, pricing, marketing, paperwork, and legal transfer — so you don’t have to.
  • Because our reputation is on the line, we represent every firearm honestly and accurately. We do not misrepresent items, and we will not accept consignments priced unrealistically or unfairly to buyers.
  • How our Exclusive Consignment Program Works:
  • We typically contract for a 60-day consignment period. This allows time to:
  • Research the firearm properly
  • Market it effectively
  • Feature it in-store and online
  • Promote it to our email and text subscribers
  • Adjust pricing strategically if needed
  • We text & email our current pre-owned inventory weekly.  These items move FAST, and this is the best way to get your firearm sold for the most money!
  • “Interview” all the potential buyers.  We do all that for you!
  • In our experience, 80–90% of properly priced firearms sell within this timeframe.
  • We market pre-owned inventory weekly to over 24,000 customers via email and text — and many items sell quickly through this channel alone.
  • How to get started:
  1. Start by completing our online appraisal form. Insert photos and a detailed description of the firearm and any included accessories (magazines, original box, optics, owner’s manual, etc.).
  2. Our knowledgeable staff will review the item and help determine a realistic market value based on current demand, the firearm’s condition, Kelly Blue Book Gun Values, current national market conditions, and our Local Market trends, then email you that report.
  3. Choose which type: Premium Consignment OR Basic Consignment.
  4. Choose 70% or 80%.
  5. You decide when to bring your firearm in to be checked, inspected, and confirm its condition, sign the contract, and then we get to work for you!
  6. If we agree we’re a good fit for your needs, you can schedule a drop-off or ship the firearm to us via insured UPS.
  7. No commission is charged unless your firearm sells.
  • What Happens When It Sells?
  • Once your firearm sells and the buyer completes payment, delivery, and the three-day inspection period, we begin processing your payment or store credit.
  • Payments are typically issued within 30–45 days after finalization.
  • All transfers are conducted in full compliance with ATF regulations, and all buyer paperwork is completed just as if purchasing a new firearm.

  • 70/30 Program – Receive 70% of the final sale price (paid by check).
  • 80/20 Program – Receive 80% of the final sale price as in-store credit.
  • Consignments run for a minimum of 60 days, giving us time to properly research, price, market, and promote your firearm both in-store and online.
  • We advertise to thousands of customers weekly and handle all buyer screening and ATF-compliant transfer paperwork.
    All firearms must be in safe working condition. If cleaning or repair is required, those costs
    will be deducted from the final payout.
  • If you choose to retrieve your firearm during or after the consignment period, federal transfer paperwork and background check requirements apply.
  • Your firearm is stored securely and treated with the same care as our own inventory.

  • Our Premium Exclusive Consignment Package includes a detailed Blue Book Gun Values-style market appraisal (a $100 value, offered for $49.99).
  • Our Basic Appraisal includes Blue Book market valuation at no charge if you consign with us (or $49.99 if you choose not to consign).
  • We can mail you an invoice or pay for it online
  • Includes a complete description of the firearm & accessories with retail prices advertised in our store 6 days a week for a minimum of 60 days.
  • Includes a copy of National Gun Values.
  • This option does not include photography, website listing, or active advertising.
  • After thorough investigation and evaluation of your firearm, we will:
    Help you decide the BEST price, so YOU get the most when it sells!
  • Includes completing a background check and legally transferring your firearm per ATF regulations to the new buyer.
  • Includes securely storing and protecting the details of your firearms transaction and providing you with a legal document transferring ownership per ATF rules.
  • When your item is sold (customer has paid for it, it has been delivered, and the three-day inspection period is over) we will begin the credit process to your account at Crosshairs Texas for the sales price less the commission. 
  • Our normal commission rate is 20 to 30 % of the actual selling price. (less any gunsmithing charges & appraisal fees)
  • Remember, there is no charge until your item sells.  Give us an opportunity to help recycle those items for another collector to enjoy!
  • Once a price has been set for your firearm, you will need to agree to our Terms of
  • Consignment and sign a receipt to transfer the firearm to us so we can put it on display as a consignment sale.
  • We will put your firearm out on display at our store and work to sell it for you.
  • Once we have a buyer, we will require the buyer to fill out all the usual paperwork just like purchasing a new firearm. So, you can rest assured that whoever purchases your firearm is doing so within the law.

  • After the sale has been finalized, we will contact you to deliver payment. (usually takes 30-45 days)

  • ANY firearm left in our inventory at the end of the year from December 31 to January of the next year will be charged storage fees due to the taxes Crosshairs will be charged for the item.
  • PREMIUM CONSIGNMENTS: Seller receives 70% (CHECK) of what the firearm’s final sale price is, less any possible gunsmithing charges and less the Premium Appraisal Fees (if seller chooses Premium) in the form of a check.

  • BASIC CONSIGNMENTS: Seller receives 70% (CHECK) of what the firearm’s final sale price is, less any possible gunsmithing charges in the form of a check.
  • PREMIUM CONSIGNMENTS: Seller receives 80% (CREDIT) of what the firearm’s final sale price is, less any possible gunsmithing charges and less the Premium Appraisal Fees (if seller chooses Premium) as credit on their account for purchases within the store.

Security & Protection

Your firearm is stored securely and insured while in our possession. We treat consigned firearms with the same care and protection as our own inventory.

We are responsible for the security and safety of your items while in our possession and will give them the same secure storage as our own inventory, covered by insurance for the consigned value.
We will gladly provide contact information of previous consignment customers as references.
Remember, there is no charge until your item sells.  (Premium Appraisal Fee still applies regardless if your firearm sells or not) Give us an opportunity to help recycle those items for another collector to enjoy!

Important Notes

Any open invoices on the consignor’s account
Transfer fees

Repair costs necessary to prepare the item for sale
Payment will be issued by check approximately 30–45 days after the sale is finalized (after payment, delivery, and inspection period). The check must be picked up in person by the consignor or an authorized representative.

80/20 Consignment (Initial Below)
_____ By initialing, I agree that 20% (minimum) of the final selling price will be retained by Crosshairs Texas (CHT) as commission.
The consignor will receive 80% of the final sale price as STORE CREDIT ONLY, less:
Any open invoices
Transfer fees
Cleaning fees
Gunsmith or repair charges
Store credit will be available within approximately 7 business days after the sale is finalized. Credit may remain on account for future purchases. Credit is non-transferable and may be used only by the consignor.

3. NO CHANGES AFTER SALE
_____ I understand and agree that no changes may be made to this agreement once the item has sold. No exceptions.
Any modifications to this agreement must be completed in person and signed by both parties prior to sale (except price reductions or commission adjustments approved by CHT).

4. CONSIGNMENT TERM
_____ I understand this is a minimum sixty (60) day exclusive consignment agreement.
After 60 days:
Consignor must renew the agreement in person OR
Pick up the firearm within 15 days
After 15 days, a $ 5.00-per-day storage fee will apply.
If the firearm is not claimed within 30 days after the agreement expires, ownership transfers to Crosshairs Texas.

5. EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO SELL
_____ I grant Crosshairs Texas exclusive rights to market and sell the listed item(s) during the consignment period.
CHT reserves the right to advertise, display, price, and promote the firearm in-store and online as deemed appropriate.

6. CONDITION OF ITEM
_____ I represent that I am the lawful owner of the firearm(s), that they are free of liens or encumbrances, and that they are in safe working condition.
If cleaning, repair, or gunsmith services are required to prepare the item for sale, I authorize such services and agree that charges will be deducted from my proceeds.
CHT reserves the right to refuse display of any item deemed unsafe or defective.

7. LIABILITY RELEASE
_____ I understand that Crosshairs Texas will provide secure storage; however, Consignee shall not be liable for loss or damage due to fire, theft, or casualty beyond reasonable control.
I release Crosshairs Texas, its employees, property owners, and insurance carriers from claims related to such loss to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. EARLY WITHDRAWAL OR RETURN OF FIREARM
_____ If I choose to retrieve my firearm prior to the 60-day term, I understand that:
Federal law requires completion of all ATF paperwork
I must pass a NICS background check
I must pay a $35 transfer fee
If I fail the background check or required documentation, the firearm becomes the property of Crosshairs Texas.

9. RETURN AFTER 60 DAYS
_____ If firearm remains unsold after 60 days and I retrieve it, I understand:
Federal law requires ATF paperwork
I must pass a NICS background check
Transfer procedures apply
If I fail the required documentation or background check, ownership transfers to Crosshairs Texas.
If I fail to claim the firearm within 30 days after agreement expiration, ownership transfers to Crosshairs Texas.

10. PAYMENT TERMS
Commission is deducted only after the sale.
No commission is charged if the firearm does not sell.
Premium appraisal fees (if selected) are non-refundable.

11. STORAGE & SECURITY
CHT agrees to store all consigned firearms securely and treat them with the same care as store-owned inventory.
